Come celebrate autumn with L'ÉQUIPE and take part in the double singing and music workshop! A weekend in Marseille centered on the music of the Massif Central - - - - - Singing and ensemble music workshop - October 17 and 18, 2026 On Saturday, choose between a singing workshop and an instrumental music workshop. On Sunday, we come together! Everyone meets to share the previous day’s work and experiment together with arrangements for voice and instruments! Singing workshop: All levels welcome. We will explore major principles of vocal technique, physical engagement, energy, dynamics, and rhythm to carry traditional singing from the Massif Central through a repertoire of dance songs. We will address variations in interpretation and style, as well as the links between dance and dance singing. We will also explore improvisation and “tralala” techniques over drones and melodies. Instrumental music workshop: All instruments welcome. Participants must be able to quickly learn a simple melody (or rhythm) by ear. During this workshop, we will explore tools (cohesion, rhythm, accompaniment, arrangements…) that enable a group to develop beautiful dance music. We will use a few pieces from the traditional repertoire of the Massif Central as starting points on our shared journey toward a common cadence and the shared pleasure of “making a bal.” Joint workshop: Using several traditional pieces from the Massif Central learned in parallel in each of Saturday’s workshops, the goal will be to create music shared by the instrumentalists and singers, to be played as the opening of L’ÉQUIPE’s bal on Sunday afternoon. Emphasis will be placed on ensemble playing, cohesion, group sound, the balance between voices and instruments, and a common cadence. Simple oral tools will allow participants to experiment with different musical landscapes in which everyone finds their place.
