The 42nd Algernon Race is back: get ready to experience—or relive—an extraordinary sporting and community adventure! For 42 years, the Algernon Race has brought together people with and without disabilities for a festive sporting event along the seafront in Marseille. It is the largest national event welcoming 7,300 able-bodied athletes and athletes with disabilities in the same event, with no distinction among participants. Once again this year, runners with and without disabilities will come together to share a unique race, where personal achievement and conviviality will be the order of the day. The organizing association’s missions: - Promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and older people - Prevent sedentary lifestyles and encourage physical activity for everyone - Raise public awareness of disability and ageing - Enable intergenerational encounters - Encourage sports clubs and community centers to welcome people with different abilities 3 options are available: - 5 km running and walking course Start at Palais du Pharo, finish at Prado beaches - 10 km run Start at Palais du Pharo, along Corniche Kennedy toward Parc Borély. Return along the seafront to the propeller, then turn around. Finish at Prado beaches.
