As part of Mediterranean Season 2026, with the participation of the On marche festival and the Institut Français du Maroc. 20 years ago, Taoufiq Izeddiou created the international contemporary dance festival On Marche in Marrakesh. To open its new season, Théâtre Joliette invites the Moroccan choreographer to present a Marseille version of the 20th edition of a festival shaped by five generations of dancers. Some were born there, while others grew up with it. The choreographer will explore tensions between tradition and modernity, and between the individual and the community… So many original, unexpected and necessary performances. This solo is a piece about power, sacrifice, freedom and love. Although this creation is inspired by Amazigh culture, Dihya goes far beyond these references, incorporating them into a modernity that is both digital and alive, graphic and impactful. Created at the Avignon Festival as part of Vive le Sujet! in 2022, this duet is an artistic encounter of the third kind.
