Hors-les-murs au Frac Sud - Contrôle | Émancipation : les usages sociaux de la photographie

Tour of the exhibition “Une Histoire Parallèle” by Lucie de Barbuat and Simon Brodbeck. This study of artificial intelligence and the mechanisms of memory has resulted in a vast corpus of 232 images that reconstructs an imaginary history of photography through a machine-learning program generating images from textual data. This artistic project questions the issues surrounding the appropriation of a shared visual history in the age of the Internet and the emergence of creative tools based on artificial intelligence. Their impact on photography and its ability to translate reality and write history underscore the need to constantly rethink our relationship with images and new technologies. In partnership with LinCS (University of Strasbourg), IDEAS (Aix-Marseille University), Frac Sud - Cité de l'art contemporain and Centre Photographique Marseille.
