Il était une fois une âme… Claquettes et Compagnie - Festival Voix des Suds

Once Upon a Soul… Claquettes et CompagnieShow as part of the Voix des Suds FestivalStorytelling, Dance, American Tap and Piano The soul descends to earth and discovers a life, a body with its limitations… an October 31… Then it finds its way back to the luminous path of joy and freedom through the storyteller’s voice and musical sounds. Telling stories, acting and dancing to ward off fear, celebrate the rhythms and cycles of life, follow the movements of the soul with feet on the ground and eyes toward the sky, inspired by Provençal tales passed down through generations. A classical and jazz musical repertoire, along with musical fantasies, including Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre, Milhaud, New Orleans music and original compositions Storyteller: Jean Guillon Pianist and composer: Claudine François Dance, American tap: Isabelle Gastaldi Isabelle Gastaldi: Golden Tap Award winner, Isabelle trained with the finest American and French dancers. It was at the famous Parisian club “Les Trois Mailletz” that she discovered jazz improvisation. Passionate about swing music and dance, she found in this art the fullest expression of freedom and flexibility in movement. Along the way, musicians gave her the keys to this vibrant music. A tap teacher and stage artist, and a member of the group Quai des Brunes for more than 20 years, she regularly performs on major stages with renowned musicians. The playful dialogue with instruments, the comedy and the choice of repertoire are all winks to the history of jazz, with Latin, African and more classical sonic colors. Jean Guillon: A professional street-arts storyteller, he shares his passion for Provençal and Indian tales as well as his own creations. He is sometimes accompanied by a traveling theater, “le théâtre Volant,” and collaborates with musicians, puppeteers and magicians.
