For its 43rd edition, the European Heritage Days will take place on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, 2026, under the themes “Photographic Heritage” and “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine”. The museum’s programme includes tours, exhibitions and more. All events are free. Around the permanent collections From Lanfranco to Rubens, from Philippe de Champaigne to David, and from Courbet to Monticelli, the Museum of Fine Arts collection offers a broad panorama of Italian, French and Northern European schools of painting, from the 16th to the 19th century. Sculpture is represented by an exceptional group of works by Pierre Puget, the busts of parliamentarians by Honoré Daumier, and The Inner Voice by Auguste Rodin. Not to mention works by women artists such as Françoise Duparc, Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun and Fontania Lavinia, as well as Claude Vignon and Eva Gonzalès. Flash tours and occasional talks within the permanent collections display The Museum of Fine Arts offers flash tours focusing on the permanent collections. Saturday, September 19 The Plague of 1720 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Women Artists in the 18th Century at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Marseille Landscape at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Open talks in the galleries from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Duration of flash tours: 15 min No booking required, subject to available space. Palais Longchamp Festival Marcel Longchamp Under the theme “It Sails”, the town halls of the 4th and 5th arrondissements of the City of Marseille, in partnership with Le Château de Servières, are once again presenting a selection of contemporary art works and performances in Marseille’s Palais Longchamp Park, at the Museum of Fine Arts and at the Natural History Museum. Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
