La Society × La Smala de Marseille × Radio Grenouille × Room95

La Society returns on 19 September for its final hip-hop event of 2026! La Society returns for the final date of the season! ‍ For one month, Algerian rappers ApollonTheOne* (Algiers) and Hakis* (Annaba) will be in residence at AMI’s studios as part of the BAYA residency programme, in partnership with the Cité internationale des Arts de Paris, Friche la Belle de Mai and AMI - Aide aux Musiques Innovatrices. Initiated by the Accrorap company, La Smala de Marseille is the culmination of three years of encounters and choreographic workshops with artists from the Mediterranean: from Morocco to Tunisia, from Greece to Egypt, and from Cyprus to Algeria. Dance, music and stories come together to share emotions, circulate individual identities and invent common languages. On this occasion, the two rappers will perform a showcase at Les Grandes Tables at Friche la Belle de Mai. At the end of the evening, after a ball combining Mediterranean sounds and hip-hop rhythms presented by La Smala, La Society will take over alongside Radio Grenouille and Room95 (Tunis) for an after-party devoted to Tunisian hip-hop, with live music, dance and a DJ set. At 8 p.m. - Showcases @ Grandes Tables, Friche la Belle de Mai - ApollonTheOne - Live rap Salem Ifrik, known as Apollon The One, is an artist, songwriter, composer and producer from Kouba who works in Algerian hip-hop and rap. He explores themes related to identity, lived experience, social tensions and introspection, using rap as both a poetic and direct language. - Hakis - Live rap Hakis is an Algerian artist from Annaba. A rapper, songwriter, composer, performer and engineer, he explores themes of resilience, identity, lived experience and self-improvement through his project “Marlboro Bled”, combining incisive writing, visual storytelling and authenticity. ‍ At 9 p.m. - Mediterranean Ball @ Grandes Tables, Friche la Belle de Mai A ball where Mediterranean sounds rub shoulders with hip-hop rhythms, for collective dancing until nightfall. - JiKay - DJ set + guests JiKay, a dancer, music producer and renowned DJ, has made his mark on the electronic music and hip-hop scenes. He developed a passion for music very early on, experimenting with various genres and refining a unique sound that effortlessly blends elements of trap, house and bass music. - Pan-J - Live Tunisian artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist. From his beginnings as a percussionist to his transition into electronic music, Jihed Khmiri embodies an intrinsic artistic vision that reflects the myriad of his creative impulses. ‍ From 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. - After-party at Les Grandes Tables at Friche la Belle de Mai La Society × Radio Grenouille × Room 95: Tunisian hip-hop scene: live music, dance and DJ sets. Sounds that cross the sea and shift boundaries.
