Lancement de saison : Panjrud Ensemble Du Caucase à la Transoxiane

This opening session will focus on discovering the upcoming season through various talks, video content and artistic performances. Institutional representatives, artists, associated companies and several cultural partners may be invited to share their perspective on the season and present some upcoming initiatives. Musical interludes will punctuate the event, offering a sensitive and lively glimpse of the artistic diversity that will be presented to the public. 9 p.m. – Panjrud Ensemble – The musical traditions of the Silk Roads From the Caucasus to Transoxiana For the opening of the season, the Pôle des Musiques du Monde has chosen to honor Central Asia, whose musical horizons will fill the auditorium of the Cité de la Musique de Marseille throughout the 2026–2027 program. Between Kashmir and the Caucasus, civilizations have emerged or disappeared in a tumult whose echoes have barely reached Europe. The Phocean city, ever watchful and engaged in trade, has nevertheless always perceived them. PANJRUD ENSEMBLE bears witness to the spiritual and musical unity connecting the peoples of this immense region, despite its great diversity of cultures. Comprising singer and instrumentalist Solmaz Badri from TEHRAN, Tigran Davtyan from YEREVAN on duduk, Sadriddin Gulov from BUKHARA on strings, French percussionist Samuel Wornom, and led by the young and talented Marseille accordionist Adrien SÉGUY, the group draws inspiration from five rivers joined into a single river that crosses these lands of silk, spices and faience before quietly disappearing. And their music knows that it is toward it that even the most turbulent whirlpools converge serenely. Solmaz Badri (Iran) – vocals, santur Sadriddin Gulov (Uzbekistan) – shashtar, g’ijjak, doyra, vocals Tigran Davtyan (Armenia) – duduk Adrien Séguy (France) – accordion
