Initiated by Capucine Trotobas (vocals/bass/keyboard), joined by Rémi Bernard (Avee Mana) on guitar and David Benzazon (1003, Mervyn, David Marques Quartet...) on drums and production, the trio delivers a pure electronic-organic expression through Underneath. This vibrant journey explores the hypersensitive psyche of its creator. At the crossroads of trip-hop delicacy, rock soulfulness and industrial impetuosity. Like a feeling of ever-present gentle chaos, while the band’s dreamlike universe increasingly drifts toward exaltation. Dark because of its context. After establishing its indie-cyberpunk vision on two first EPs, Mervyn broadens the scope of its influences. Eros (2025) digs into the variations of industrial rock that is as cold and heavy as it is desperate and irreverent. Thanatos (2026) will offer a warmer, mournful, atmospheric interpretation. Together, the two EPs mark a second era for Mervyn’s dystopian sound. Mervyn is the creative space of Mathieu Stachino, a composer and producer based in southern France. The quartet’s debut album, Summer On A Curb, features 11 self-produced tracks and just as many small bursts of pop with hazy guitars and immediate charm, composed by singer and guitarist Matthieu Berton.
