**Musée Cantini: new route through the modern and contemporary collections**. “Entering the body of the shore through an escaped language.” Amélie Lavin, Director of the Musée Cantini, and Louise Madinier, Curator at the Musée Cantini in charge of the collections, will present the new route through the collections, reimagined from the perspective of Marseille, a port city and crossroads of exchange with the Mediterranean, the Americas and Asia, shaped by colonial history, resistance, exile and hospitality. This territory becomes the anchor point for a story of modern and contemporary creation that is open to the world. The museum is thus renewing its scholarly and cultural project by bringing artists into dialogue across the shores of the Mediterranean: Wifredo Lam, Matta, Joaquín Ferrer, Baya, Ahmed Cherkaoui, Saloua Raouda Choucair, Alfred Manessier, Antoni Tàpies and Kader Attia... while breaking down divisions between media (painting, photography, cinema, sculpture and poetry). Thanks to new acquisitions and loans and deposits from CNAP, the Centre Pompidou, the Alcazar and private collections, the collection gives greater prominence to women artists and expands its geography toward Africa, the Americas and Asia.
