Tendre feu

A new constellation of stories about masculinity, blending music hall, cabaret and stripped-back theater. Since childhood, masculinity is the only score given to men. They play it without ever asking where the script comes from. While some feel affirmed by it, others do not recognize themselves in it and feel suffocated by it. Tendre Feu – boys don’t cry opens up another path. Like an invitation to anyone wishing to redraw the contours of masculinity, TENDRE FEU - boys don’t cry offers a new constellation of stories, blending music hall, cabaret and stripped-back theater to offer an alternative to the present. Through a carnal, lively and fragile ritual, seven young actors take over the stage to dispel the spell of oppression. Through their bodies, senses and laughter, they tell a story of healing, where stories, dance and music come together. Theater becomes the place where figures of power confront one another, turn away, and sometimes allow themselves to be inhabited – like so many carnival masks displayed in order to disarm them more effectively. Although the show is political, it is rooted in a love of play that is neither activist nor exclusive. By embracing, in some respects, the codes of cabaret, the show makes a radical and contemporary statement while inhabiting a festive and accessible theatrical imagination.
