Trio Barolo

To open this new, sixth season, Caverne Jazz will welcome the celebrated Trio Barolo, a singular ensemble unlike any other. Between jazz, opera and world music, the three musicians take us on a journey around Mare Nostrum, the Mediterranean that nourishes their roots and imagination. Close your eyes… and you find yourself transported into a Fellini film, carrying only emotion, humility, musicality and immense generosity as luggage. Trio Barolo’s distinctive sound is born of a rare instrumentation: bassist Philippe Euvrard’s compositions provide a magnificent space for two exceptional soloists, Rémy Poulakis (accordion, vocals) and Daniel Zimmermann (trombone). Their third album, released in 2025, makes the Mediterranean the starting point for every journey. Through their family stories and origins, the three musicians offer a moving tribute to exiled peoples and the migrations that have shaped our shared culture.
