Visites gratuites du Centre de Conservation et de Ressources du Mucem !

The Mucem Conservation and Resources Center (CCR) is exceptionally opening its doors to reveal the behind-the-scenes work involved in caring for its collections! This year, the program follows the national theme “Heritage in Peril.” Through a series of guided tours and workshops, discover the professions, expertise and issues involved in preserving collections for future generations. Tours on the themes “heritage in wartime,” “sensitive materials” and “preventive conservation” will enrich the program. Throughout the weekend, themed tours will be offered every hour (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding the lunch break from noon to 1 p.m.). They will take you into the heart of the Mucem storage areas, the model apartment and the consultation room, where exceptional objects will be specially presented. Workshops on photography, the library and archives will complete this journey and allow everyone to explore different aspects of heritage conservation and transmission. A highlight of this edition, an exceptional tour will bring together Mucem, the Marseille Municipal Archives and CICRP (Interdisciplinary Center for Heritage Conservation and Restoration) on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., by reservation. This route will reveal the three institutions through “flash tours” specially designed around the theme “Heritage in Peril.” At the Mucem CCR, visitors will have the opportunity to view three objects exceptionally displayed in the consultation room to address the question of heritage in wartime.
