Atelier d'initiation à la traduction littéraire - le Grec

**TRANSLATION BEHIND THE SCENES** A series of meetings and workshops on translation in the Mediterranean, created in collaboration with ATLAS – Association for the Promotion of Literary Translation. The third workshop in the literary translation series will be led by Aude Fondard and will focus on Greek. **Aude Fondard** has been dancing, writing and translating since 2008. When iel is not choreographing poetic performances for Cie Amako!, iel moves between English, German and Modern Greek and is interested in texts about art, bodies, minorities and territory. An excerpt from Alexandra K\*'s play was published in issue 7 / Résistance of Revue Café. This introductory literary translation workshop invites you to reflect on orality and the fluidity of language, which will not only be read but also spoken and experienced by actors and actresses. How does the stage experience contribute to the development of a literal translation, and then a reworked one? No knowledge of Modern Greek is required to take part in this workshop. We will start from a word-for-word translation and look for the formulations best suited to the protagonists of the play (a retired and angry father, a disillusioned rapper son, and an expatriate daughter who works as a videographer). They debate the sale of a family cabin in Corfu and tear each other apart in the middle of a tourist area. This funny and poignant play was performed at the National Theatre of Athens in 2018 and 2019.
