Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques - 5ème édition

By exploring visual arts, live performance, public space, sound arts and immersive creation, the Biennale of Digital Imaginaries examines the presence and use of technologies in art, unfolds throughout the region, close to people, and gives a voice to national and international artists from diverse backgrounds. From late October 2026 to January 2027, in several cities in the South region—Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon, Arles and Istres—it will offer a multidisciplinary program devoted to digital arts and cultures, combining visual and sound creations, live performance and installations in public space. Following a successful fourth edition that attracted more than 102,500 visitors, the Biennale returns with a rich and accessible program for everyone, bringing together French, Mediterranean and international offerings around the theme “Resistances.” Through this theme, it will examine how digital practices—whether rooted in performance, installation, live performance, augmented reality, video or algorithmic writing—can become spaces of symbolic, political and aesthetic struggle. This fifth edition forms part of a broad Mediterranean narrative by highlighting the diversity of its artists and creators committed to multiple forms of digital creation.
