Le Divadlo aims to be one of Marseille’s pioneers in shows for very young audiences. Two children who do not know each other approach one another, “sniff” each other out, are drawn together, move apart and meet again as they seek to get along while defending their territory and identity. Children’s games, power games and games of compromise help them learn to play together: by discovering tolerance, they learn to be more comfortable with others so they can feel better about themselves. In “Friends, Not Friends”, everything lies in the “I” and in the “game”! One is rather solitary and creative, while the other is more sociable and follows along. To classical and jazz music, they move around with cardboard rolls and a few accessories that they handle and transform according to the situations and their imagination. The tone is resolutely farcical, the situations comical, and complicity and bickering prevail.
