Festival de Vives Voix : Leï feu de vie

This show is part of the World Music Center of the Cité de la Musique de Marseille. Feu de Vie is an anthem to women’s incandescent energy. On stage: two voices, synthesizers, and a palette of sounds serving a contemplative, rhythmic trance. Gentle and fiery, these liberating moments give voice to the fire of life that animates these women. Laurène Barnet and Carine Habauzit draw inspiration from the Mediterranean to the Middle East. Like the embedded tales of Scheherazade, the duo embarks on a melodic journey and a flamboyant voyage. Vocal and instrumental compositions inspired by mouachahat and by works by passionate women intermingle: Hadewijch of Antwerp and her mystical writings, Sappho, Rābiʿa al-ʿAdawiyya – a major figure in Sufism – and Hildegard von Bingen.
