George sans S

Where we meet a dog, a cloud of butterflies and a famous female author dressed as a man… George Sand, a free-spirited woman and bold writer, takes refuge in Nohant to write. On this peaceful estate, she has a marvelous puppet theater built. What an idyllic, ideal place for puppets. They come to life to embody the characters from the châtelaine’s novels, accompanying her on her walks from the house to the edge of the pond, where desires and demons stir. Within a magical set, like a forest installed at the heart of the room, four women artists bring George Sand’s vibrant spirit and struggles to life. Music, dance and sign-song interact with a host of puppets gathered around a writing table, from which summer grasses and frozen trees emerge. Ghosts appear, transform and, with the Les Anges au plafond company, create a waking dream in which objects come alive within a singular, offbeat visual universe. With Camille Trouvé, Ángela Ibáñez Castaño, Christelle Ferreira alternating with Hawa Diakité, and Gaëlle Grassin alternating with Marie Jolet. Text by Les Anges au Plafond in collaboration with Estelle Savasta Dramaturgy: Saskia Berthod
