Gorfou-Tornade

A frenetic literary and theatrical cartoon that responds to violence with laughter and ends with a joyful party! The MiniGorfous’ choir tells us about a distant era in a world of ice. A world where anger is raging and resources are melting away. A tragedy makes everything completely derail: a MiniGorfou has died. Collective fear, frantic consumption and institutional violence then lead straight to collapse. But what we are told is truly a renewal, a physical revolt through celebration and movement. In a creative, playful and inclusive language, Héloïse Desrivières gives children the power of storytelling and chooses hope over resignation. The pace is frantic, while music and sound effects play an integral part in the narrative and the space transforms as the ice floe melts. The entirely white ice world gradually becomes metallic and reflective, eventually creating the disco ball beneath which we will dance together to share the joy of being in the present.
