Together, music vibrates more intensely. Hervé Joulain, French horn Fanny Azzuro, piano An instrument of warrior origin (let us remember Roncevaux), the French horn became the quintessential Romantic instrument and the shortest path to dreams (think of the child’s Wonderful Horn). Hervé Joulain is one of its finest ambassadors. Appointed principal horn of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France at the age of 20, he grew up with Bernstein, Barenboim and Giulini… He then held the same position at the Orchestre national de France before joining Lorin Maazel in Parma. While her family roots also lie in Italy, Fanny Azzuro began playing piano in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to accompany her older brother, a horn player (now principal horn at the Deutsche Oper Berlin). She also runs a festival in Provence, Musique au cœur des Baronnies. PROGRAM Works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Jacques de la Presle, Raoul Pugno, Johannes Brahms Elsa Barraine, Paul Le Flem and Robert Schumann.
