Honda Romance

Vimala Pons masterfully choreographs our visceral ability to carry on and sing, despite everything. Falling and getting back up again and again: ten performers turn emotion into genuine energy in motion! A woman lies on the ground, crushed by a satellite, a symbol of a love that failed to control its fall. Around her, nine performers in perpetual motion move through intense emotions, chant gestures, and let themselves be struck by sounds and images. On stage, three wind and explosion cannons sweep away words, actions and bodies. The music by Tsirihaka Harrivel and Rebeka Warrior contributes to this fervor and offers a resolutely contemporary, multifaceted score. The creation unfolds in three sequences whose names refer to emblematic myths of adversity: Atlas, Pandora, Philoctetes. Emotion is the raw material, while the uninterrupted flow of thought sets the rhythm. At the crossroads of stand-up, musical theater and dance, the creation explores our need for emotional and physical balance.
