Imarhan Au Dodu Avec Sidiaz À Marseille

IMARHAN: Over four albums, Imarhan has become an emblem of the new Tuareg generation, breathing new life into Assouf, the blues of the desert. Imarhan celebrates the everyday life of the passionate Kel Tamashek youth, between the vastness of the desert and city life. Imarhan’s sound reflects their diverse influences, a rare symbiosis drawn from their ancient Tuareg roots, music from Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Algerian and Western pop-rock experiences they listened to while growing up. Following the release of their new album "Essam" on the City Slang label, the band will perform at Dodu in Marseille on September 10, 2026. "With Imarhan, desert blues does not get buried in the sand. In the Tuareg tradition, these five young musicians from Tamanrasset, in southern Algeria, have earned a reputation as a live act with their skillful guitars, swirling rhythms and collective vocals." Libération SIDIAZ (opening act): The sinuous and intoxicating groove of enchanting Saharan rock: continuing a familiar Mediterranean bridge between two worlds, Sidiaz plays a unifying groove linking its Sahrawi cultural heritage to the roar of a power trio, blending its Sahelian background with psychedelic rock and uplifting blues. Led by Salaheddine Zaïdi on lively guitar and vocals in colloquial Arabic, this electric combo echoes the great epic traditions of Malian and Tuareg blues, recognizable through its haunting melodies and Saharan trance, its desert breath and timeless rhythms. It speaks of love, freedom and hope in a reimagining of Black music in the Maghreb and rock riding across the dunes.
