A long-established presence on the Marseille and national music scenes, Kourou Fia comes from a distinguished lineage of Guinean griots and has been a member of the group Ba Cissoko since its creation in 1999. With Cokora, Kourou Fia delivers a deeply personal second album in which the kora becomes a fluid language, freed from the limits of words. Driven by a subtle fusion of African music, flamenco and jazz, this album tells of transmission, resilience and the passage from an ancient heritage to a contemporary expression—like a universal story seen from a different perspective.
