“Violence is never spectacular; it is administrative, economic, rational.” Cie Organon The Bread Trade, an unfinished play reconstructed after the author’s death from his notes, highlights the mechanisms of capitalism. It tells the story of Mrs. Queck, a mother of five who is brutally evicted. In this city in crisis, neighbors, unemployed people and shopkeepers act out of fear of social disappearance. Faced with this economic brutality, the fable asks: who owns the debt? Following the success of Mère(s), the Organon company once again invites residents of the Belle de Mai neighborhood to make a Bertolt Brecht text their own. Testimonies and experiences fuel a work between autofiction and documentary. This process gives rise to an adaptation combining theater, music and images. On stage, transformed into a human-sized game board, alliances are formed and broken. Survival is negotiated, and each character tries to hold on to their place in an uncertain world.
