Le lac des signes

I want to meet someone without prejudging what I am looking for or what I might find without looking for it. And I wonder who would miss me if I disappeared tonight, apart from my duty? Siegfried, a young prince of marriageable age, is ordered by his parents to choose a bride at a ball organized for the occasion. Furious to see his romanticism treated so roughly, the young man goes hunting. Arriving at the lake, just as he is about to take aim at a flock of white swans, he watches, dumbfounded, as they transform into a myriad of young women, including the delightful Odette… Drawing on various versions from Slavic culture and more personal sources of inspiration, and far removed from the technicality of the ballet that inspires it, the show invents a hybrid vocabulary of words, gestures, sounds and images to recompose the story made famous by Swan Lake.
