Les Plis du Monde

Drawing on biophony and geophony, Duncan Pinhas musically reinterprets a phenomenological connection to the vibrations, textures and rhythms of nature. This evolving project brings together environmental sounds, sound creation and live music with a video narrative of landscapes from the ends of the earth. It conveys the expressiveness of landscapes transformed by extreme climate events and contamination, while following the path of water from a volcano’s glacier to the sea. How can a contaminated natural element be made audible? A dialogue emerges between nature, its sonic transformations and their correspondences with instrumental playing techniques on synthesizer and guitar.
