Louise Osman et Jérémie Schiacre

This performance is part of the World Music Department of the Cité de la Musique de Marseille. In a finely crafted language of flashes and carefully arranged chiaroscuro, Louise Osman reveals a new facet of her talent alongside Jérémie Schacre, an accomplished guitarist working in these parts. Together, they succeed in marrying what words set to music in our most intimate and cosmic questions. The guitar moves through registers, textures and ornaments that the delicacy of the playing makes as precious as they are perceptible, while the text gradually exhales like a fragrance from the flow of sounds. The nature of the duo allows this alliance to avoid all banality and take a tangent from everyday life, happily slipping toward a state of grace that delights the ear and soul. For a moment, music has the elegance to suspend time—and words to soften it. Residency dates: Monday, October 12 to Thursday, October 15.
