Pagnol was a major figure in French literature and one of the most widely read French-language authors in the world. Author Jean-Jacques Thibaud and composer Julien Vallespi have created a version that is at once faithful, free and inspired. Moving from laughter to tears, the shattering destinies of Manon, Jean de Florette, Aimée, Ugolin, Bernard and le Papet unfold through 22 original songs, including La Sauvage, Chacun sa croix, Les silences qui tuent, Manon, je t'aime and the unforgettable Si j'avais su que c'était lui. Carried by 13 artists on stage, this production brings together the dramatic power of musical theater and the extraordinary poetry of Provence. Between passions, secrets, love, revenge and redemption, every word and every note transcends the emotions of Pagnol’s characters.
