Developing your artistic, technical and performance practice 1. Intended audience Dancers, choreographers, performers, circus artists, actors, visual artists and public-space artists. Also open to professionals in healthcare, popular education and social work who wish to develop their physical and relational skills through movement practice. 2. Prerequisites No technical dance prerequisites are required. Participants must be able to engage in sustained physical activity, be open to improvisation and accept physical contact within a supportive and structured educational framework. Prerequisite validation: a telephone interview or written exchange with the trainee and/or the commissioning party before registration. 3. Operational and measurable objectives Apply the technical fundamentals of Contact Improvisation (gravity, weight, counterweight, points of support, spirals, falls and lifts). Use somatic practices as tools for internal listening in the service of movement. Develop bodily and relational awareness that enables improvisation in duets and groups. Compose an individual or collective improvisation using choreographic scores. Analyze a work or practice in light of the history of contemporary dance and performance. Transfer the relational skills acquired (listening, trust, responsibility and collaboration) to one’s professional field. Experiment with different relationships to the audience. 4. Duration 6 days—36 hours (10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., then 2:30–5:30 p.m.). From 1 to 12 participants. 5. Access arrangements Access to the training is granted following an exchange with the trainer, allowing needs to be analyzed and compatibility with the proposed training to be verified. Once validated, a proposal is sent. Registration becomes effective after the contractual documents have been signed and, where applicable, the funding agreement has been received. Teaching methods The teaching approach emphasizes embodied experience, experimentation, observation and reflective analysis. Sessions alternate between demonstrations, individual or group practical exercises, experience-sharing, theoretical contributions and analysis of works. Particular attention is paid to inclusion and the diversity of those present. The training promotes kindness in relationships involving the body and touch, and awareness of the relationships between people in collective dance situations. Somatic practices (Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering, Authentic Movement) are integrated as tools for internal listening that support learning. The training encourages personal felt experience. Personalized support is provided throughout the course. Review sessions, individual feedback and educational regulation are incorporated into each day. 11. Assessment methods Initial placement assessment: an interview to establish each participant’s level and expectations. Continuous observation of learning throughout the 6 days. Daily individual and group feedback at the end of each day. Final assessment through a composition or performance drawing on the skills developed during the week. Written evaluation questionnaire at the end of the training. Collective oral review on the final day. An individual end-of-training certificate is given to each participant. 12. Accessibility for people with disabilities People with disabilities who wish to participate are invited to contact us before registering. A personalized discussion will be arranged to examine possible accommodations. 13. Detailed content The training offers an intensive immersion structured in two complementary daily periods: the morning is devoted to technique and physical practice; the afternoon incorporates composition, performance and historical perspectives. Each morning includes periods of solo, duet and group practice, as well as moments for reflective exchange. The warm-ups draw on somatic influences (Feldenkrais, Contact Improvisation, Authentic Movement and Body-Mind Centering). The afternoons systematically include an introduction to the history of dance and performance, followed by composition work related to the day’s theme. Writing scores (day 6): in groups, drawing on the methods and techniques discovered during the week, participants will expand the tools in a compositional and personal way, through attempts and explorations, playing between the inside and the outside. 14. Technical and supervisory resources Teaching team The training is delivered by trainers with initial training related to the discipline taught and several years of professional and teaching experience. Depending on the session, guest artists enrich the training with complementary approaches. Educational resources Before the training, participants receive a presentation document (content, organization, schedule and instructors). During the training: bibliography, a selection of video excerpts, an audio library and documentary resources. Scenographic objects (Pilates balls, Lycra fabrics) are provided by the trainers. Technical resources Equipped dance studio (suitable flooring, sufficient movement space), video projector and Wi-Fi connection. The training takes place in person at Pôle 164, Marseille. Educational support A round-table discussion is organized at the beginning of the training to identify specific needs and possible adaptations. Time for discussion, questions and answers, and educational regulation is incorporated into the training. 15. Certification Individual end-of-training certificate specifying the objectives, duration, dates and assessment results. 16. Monitoring arrangements Pre-training placement questionnaire. Attendance sheets for each half-day. Immediate satisfaction questionnaire at the end of the training. Follow-up satisfaction survey after 3 months.
