Mossi Traoré, la mode aussi

Curated by Mossi Traoré, fashion designer and founder of the Ateliers Alix Julia Ferloni-Grandval, heritage curator, international expert, Expertise France. Following the success of the “Fashion Folklore” exhibition, Mucem is devoting an exhibition in 2026 to Mossi Traoré, an unconventional figure on the French scene, for whom couture is at once a field of experimentation, a tool for passing on knowledge and a collective language. Designed in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition immerses visitors in a world where fashion engages in dialogue with popular cultures, urban arts and traditional know-how. Sculptural silhouettes, videos, textiles interacting with the museum’s archives and artisanal techniques line a sensory, participatory journey. Visitors are invited to touch the materials, listen, create and feel. Trained as much on the streets as by masters of couture, Mossi Traoré has developed a refined and committed aesthetic. His eponymous brand and his school, the Ateliers Alix – a tribute to Madame Grès – champion accessible yet demanding haute couture, open to everyone. With this exhibition, Mucem asserts its role as a bridge between heritage and contemporary creation, highlighting often-invisible stories that carry meaning and memory. Saturday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m.: exhibition tour in French Sign Language
