On the ruins, stones bloom offers us an immersion in the desert With On the Ruins, Stones Bloom, Abdessamad El Montassir offers us an immersion in the desert and its silenced stories, which he views as an archipelago crossed by human and non-human presences, buried memories and disjointed temporalities. A living territory where plants, trees, mountains, sand and wind in turn become active witnesses, capable of preserving and transmitting what One History leaves in the shadows. Originally from the Sahara in southern Morocco, Abdessamad El Montassir develops a practice at the intersection of art and research, in which the landscape is never a passive entity but a fully-fledged actor. His projects are rooted in an attentiveness to what escapes speech: that of humans who cannot, do not want to or no longer manage to testify, and the more discreet voice of non-human entities that express themselves in temporalities beyond our grasp. Event organized as part of Saison Méditerranée 2026, co-produced with Friche la Belle de Mai and in partnership with Kulte (Rabat) and Cirva (Marseille), as part of the PAC festival
