Violinist Liza Kerob, principal concertmaster of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, dreamed of playing the Goldberg Variations. Federico Hood, principal violist of the Monegasque ensemble, and Thierry Amadi, principal cellist, helped her make it happen. The Goldberg Variations is one of Bach’s most fascinating works. Glenn Gould made it “cult” through a famous recording. Russian-American violinist Dmitri Sitkovetsky painted the aria and the thirty variations in colors. He dedicated his work to Glenn Gould. Canons and fugues in CinemaScope! PROGRAM SCHUBERT—String Trio D 471 WEINBERG—Trio Op. 48 BACH—Goldberg Variations BWV 988 Liza Kerob, violin Federico Hood, viola Thierry Amadi, cello
