Another dream double bill celebrating contemporary techno at 22 Rue Jobin, featuring the now-unmissable VEL and her partner for the evening, Maelita. A leading figure on Morocco’s techno scene, VEL is a regular on Marseille’s club circuit. She returns in top form for her first appearance at the venue, almost two years after the release of her acclaimed debut album, “There is a solution”. Channeling all the hope of a free and creative new scene, we loved her latest purely ambient project, “Cuddle Protocol”, seeing in it the full maturity of a accomplished artist. We particularly admire the finesse she has brought to modern techno production in France, always precise, and above all beautiful. Able to take us down all the most challenging paths of club science, just like her counterpart for the evening, Maelita is also one of those artists who inspire us through her approach to electronic music and her ability to combine rhythms and musical identities, creating a bubbling mix of sensations, emotions and bodily movement. Always moving forward, and taking the right dance steps, come and discover the complementary worlds of two of our favorite artists. —————— VEL Originally from Rabat, Vel discovered electronic music when she arrived in Lyon to study engineering. A first night at Le Sucre marked a decisive turning point and led her to become fully involved in club culture. She has been a resident there since 2022. Her world moves freely between techno, trance and ambient. Guided by percussion, she creates constantly evolving sets, playing with contrasts of rhythm, texture and intensity rather than the conventions of a single genre. Supported by major figures on the scene such as Anetha and In Aeternam Vale, Vel has been building a notable discography for several years. After several EPs, she released her debut album *There Is Always a Solution* in 2024, then founded her label PURR in 2025, which has released two compilations and her ambient album *Cuddle Protocol*. MAELITA An artist who crosses genres, Maelita moves between bass music, break, downtempo and slow trance. Her unique musical approach combines depth and experimentation to create atmospheres ranging from pure intensity to introspection, resonating with those seeking to push back the boundaries of sound. Among her latest releases are Wifi is Shit on the Attraction Corp compilation, This Is How We Preak Your Toxic Positivity, No More Daddy Issues* on Craquages VOL.1 (Craquage Collective), Significant Other on *Soft Limits VOL.1 and Calimuchoon on Everybody Trance Records — Maelita reveals a deeply personal sonic world where texture manipulation and rhythmic contrasts merge with vibrant, hypnotic atmospheres. Her journey has taken her to prestigious stages such as Nuits Sonores and PEF, while she has also left her mark on the Everybody Trance collective by curating the “Washclub” night alongside Aloka, bringing her artistic vision into collective projects. Today, Maelita continues her sonic exploration with her residency on Noods Radio through the Synodig show, using music as a vehicle for questioning and dialogue. She is currently working on a new EP and developing a captivating live set, promising new sonic adventures for her audience.
