Meeting with the artistic team after the performance on Wednesday, April 14. Carmen, Aïda, Tosca, Mimì, Dido, Ophelia: abandoned, insane, ill, desperate, suicidal or murdered… In opera, the heroine is very often applauded as she collapses to the floor in the final scene. This is also Violetta’s fate, the heroine of Verdi’s famous opera La Traviata. Sick with tuberculosis, loved and loving in return, she is nevertheless ordered to end the romance by the father of her suitor, who sees her as a fallen woman... In this performed and sung comedy by Myriam Marzouki and Sébastien Lepotvin, a soprano and a baritone are preparing to sing a condensed version of this great opera. But nothing goes as planned, because the third performer does not arrive… and is replaced at the last minute by an actress who disrupts the performance. This production blurs the boundaries between acting and singing, bringing theater and opera together in a single impulse. Throughout the show, an aria by Mozart or Bizet, a Beethoven lied or a pop song emerges... A mixture of genres that makes Violetta’s fate resonate differently. And that of all the others.
