About this event

Saturday, October 10

Three examples of creative work within a shared workshop, illustrating the practices of Clémence Rivalier (graphic designer and artist), Margot Bulot (multidisciplinary artist) and Rémi Marilleau (upholsterer). Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

3 p.m.: Presentation of the work of Magot Bulot, which revolves around the dowel (a cylindrical wooden piece). Starting with her research stages and moving on to the development of her tools, she will complement the presentation of her creative process with a demonstration of the wood-bending technique she carries out using a kiln.

5 p.m.: Lecture: the historical trajectory of the “handkerchief object,” by Rémi Marilleau
Fabric handkerchiefs are abundant on the second-hand market, and yet noses still run. Why have these squares of fabric become near-waste, which reuse centers struggle to get rid of? Their rich variations in patterns and the needlework they support make them heritage objects whose inherent qualities invite reuse. This, at any rate, is the proposition of upholsterer Rémi Marilleau, who, initially attracted by the exceptional fineness (and strength) of this weave, proposes to requalify this existing resource as curtains. The presentation of 13 meters of handkerchief curtains (begun in 2021) will provide the setting for a discussion about the trajectory of this object, symptomatic of changes in our ways of living and consuming.

With the participation of Jeanne Guien, author of “consumerism through its objects,” published in 2021 by Divergentes, whose study objects included the handkerchief.

Saturday, October 17

Another opening day for the shared workshop on Avenue Corot.

3 p.m.: Clémence Rivalier, artist and graphic designer, presents the results of her research carried out in 2025 and 2026 during her residency at Bel Ordinaire in Pau.
At the same time, from 3 p.m., the “Custom Kids Garage” workshop, intended for children aged 5 to 15, will be held on the workshop’s terrace and parking area. Using stickers, paint and other DIY techniques, participants will be invited to take part in a group activity to customize and make their own small means of transport their own (bicycles, scooters, roller skates, etc.). A coloring and painting area will be available for younger children. Snacks on site, a convivial gathering and a photo shoot at the end of the workshop.
