Queer algorithms: disrupting technologies, imagining our futures

Algorithms anticipate our tastes, decisions and futures, and in doing so influence them. Optimized for immediate performance, they lock our societies into futures we have not chosen. What if queer thought offered an alternative? Tolerance for error, the right to be forgotten, a taste for chance, and a rejection of rigid categories: all resources for designing more robust and freer artificial intelligences. Drawing on my book Algorithmes queers (B42, 2026), I will explore these questions at the intersection of economics, technology and culture.
