Adhé.rencontre #3 - Découverte du Frioul

The back-to-school adhé·rencontre will take place on Sunday, September 20, in Frioul! ☀️ Join us for a friendly outing to Frioul: a walk with the Calanques National Park’s eco-rangers, organized for our network, a discovery of the archipelago’s heritage, a visit to the Maison des Îles et du Littoral, followed by a picnic at Saint-Estève beach. 🌊 An open-air adhé·rencontre to reconnect, extend the summer and build our network in a different way. On Sunday, September 20, La Cité des Transitions is delighted, in partnership with the Calanques National Park, to invite you to set sail for this back-to-school adhé·rencontre. We’re heading to Frioul for an open-air morning discovering Frioul, followed by a friendly picnic. The aim is to get to know one another, build connections, discover an incredible heritage site and recharge our batteries. You can take part in the walk and the visit, or simply join us for the picnic! This adhé·rencontre is open to members, who may bring loved ones, subject to availability. Just remember to let us know when you register. For those wishing to take part in the walk and visit, meet from 9 a.m. at the Vieux-Port to start the day with a friendly coffee offered by La Cité des Transitions. The meeting point will be specified later. Please be there by 9:30 a.m. at the latest so we have time to meet up before boarding. ⛴️ Transport covered by La Cité des Transitions. Set off to discover Ratonneau Island with the Calanques National Park’s eco-rangers, on a walk specially organized for members of La Cité. During approximately one hour of walking, you will discover Frioul’s landscapes, between limestone cliffs, the Mediterranean Sea, vegetation adapted to island conditions and traces of human history. Along the way, the eco-rangers will introduce you to the richness of the archipelago’s natural environments, the species that live there and the challenges involved in preserving these fragile areas. The walk will also provide an opportunity to encounter several traces of Frioul’s past, such as Hôpital Caroline and the former fortifications. As part of Heritage Days, this is a different way to discover the archipelago, combining nature, history and heritage. The walk will be followed by a visit to the Maison des Îles et du Littoral, an information and educational center dedicated to the richness of Marseille’s island heritage. An opportunity to learn more about the islands, their natural environments, their history and the challenges involved in preserving them. 🥾 Difficulty: intermediate — the walk includes some elevation gain and certain potentially slippery sections. After the walk and visit, let’s meet up for a friendly shared picnic at Saint-Estève beach. An opportunity to take time to chat, get to know one another and enjoy Frioul at a leisurely pace. • Remember to bring your picnic, and something to share if you wish. • And for those who want to enjoy the sea: don’t forget your swimsuit! You can then enjoy the island and leave at your leisure according to the shuttle schedules. That is absolutely possible! ⛴️ Shuttle to be taken independently. We recommend taking the 11:40 a.m. shuttle. The picnic is open to loved ones and families: feel free to bring someone along! Picnic, water bottle, sunscreen, cap, suitable walking shoes and, if you would like to swim, a swimsuit. ​⚠️ Places for the walk and visit are limited, so remember to register fairly quickly if you would like to take part. If you become unavailable, please let us know, ideally at least 48 hours before the event, so that we can offer your place to someone else. 🎟️ Free event, registration required.
