The [mac] museum of contemporary art welcomes Louisa Babari from May 15 to December 6. Louisa Babari takes over the [mac] museum of contemporary art with works inspired by Antiquity and Berber and Numidian cultures, created specially by the artist for the exhibition. Called AFRICA, in reference to the Berber goddess and the history of the continent, it offers an immersive experience combining photographic, visual and sound works, bringing an ancient bestiary into dialogue with the collections of the Museums of Marseille. In partnership with the Passages contemporary art center (Troyes) Exhibition bearing the “Saison Méditerranée” label, the cultural season of the Institut français. Exhibition bearing the Bicentennial of Photography label from the Ministry of Culture. ► Echoing this exhibition, from September 2026 Louisa Babari will present a new version of the sound project Voix Publiques at the [mac] museum of contemporary art, the Centre de la Vieille Charité, the Cantini Museum and the Marseille International Poetry Center. Designed to be presented in public spaces, Voix publiques reconnects with a tradition of popular poetic dissemination and pays tribute to Algerian and African poetry. Through recordings of poets, lyrical artists, visual artists, actors and amateurs, Louisa Babari celebrates the diversity of voices and forms of writing from the continent and its diaspora.
