AFRICALINK, The Charter:

We, European and African entrepreneurs,

Aware

• That the African continent is now at the heart of global change

• That our societies share a common future, building on a past that has often been shared.

• That traditional development aid and cooperation models struggle to effectively support the emergence of the private sector, confirming that this emergence is primarily endogenous.

• That people, within a framework of parity that must necessarily be developed, are at the heart of development, and that entrepreneurs are the original source of wealth creation.

• That SMEs and the freedom to do business are essential to a society’s balance and growth.

Resolved

• To create the conditions for trusting relationships between us

• To promote the establishment of respectful and balanced partnerships, while maintaining necessary confidentiality

• To help implement economic and cultural practices that respect the law, the environment, and the safety of our businesses and everyone involved in them.

We commit to

• Building a network for exchanging ideas. This network, called “Africalink,” was founded in Provence, in Marseille, a historic gateway between Europe and Africa. It aims to bring together and include a broad range of participants from regions and countries across both continents.

• Directly and indirectly promoting the creation and development of SMEs through partnerships between men and women from our countries
