Allégories du béton

Company Sombra residency presentation Four characters from different worlds share a choreographic juggling performance in communion with kinetic art. In a “moving stage” setup, the show unfolds like a living score, based on a graphic and moving narrative. The set design, called “The Ships (Without Water),” consists of oscillating modules that pivot at the impulse of a gesture, revealing their fragility. Between set design and installation, the semicircles form an unstable, linear landscape. The show Allegories of Concrete explores the idea of an immobile journey, in which four naïve characters (called “the allegorical ones”) move forward without actually moving from place to place. Carrying inner horizons, the four characters find a space in which to share their visual stories. Music sets the rhythm of their gestures and movements, revealing the stories that inhabit them. Without words, they tell of the birth of a new civilization (one with no past), a civilization in search of transcendence. Like an inner crossing, Allegories of Concrete “is an ode to life, the sublime and movement.”
