AZ takes the stage at Espace Julien for a hilarious evening in the heart of Marseille
The show "Au-Dessus de Tout" takes on a thoroughly contemporary phenomenon: a lack of enthusiasm. AZ dissects the pressures of our times—to be passionate, to be committed, to be “all in”—and turns them into comic material. His tightly written stand-up turns melancholy into a source of laughter, and disillusionment into a shared mirror in which everyone can recognize themselves. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
For this show at Espace Julien in Marseille, AZ turns his sharp pen to the tyranny of the extraordinary, as told by someone who finds nothing extraordinary about it. A wry, clear-eyed look at our times, delivered with polished writing, confirming Espace Julien as one of the leading cultural venues in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Fans of shows and cultural outings in Marseille will find this an event not to be missed.

AZ: the career of a comedian with a distinctive style
AZ, whose real name is Azedine Bendjilali, was born on May 27, 1995 in Créteil. After making a notable appearance at the Jamel Comedy Club, he went on to take on a series of projects and develop a style built on sharp observations of contemporary society. His first one-man show, Exister, was presented at the Théâtre du Marais in Paris in 2019.
In 2022, he co-wrote and co-directed the comedy Les Gagnants, released in theaters on April 13, 2022, and also made his mark as the creator of the series Terminal. Following his show Rupture (since 2024), he returns with Au-Dessus de Tout, his latest stage project. You can already see AZ in "Au-Dessus de Tout" in Grenoble, another date on this acclaimed tour.
