Remember this list from the schoolyard, where words already slip toward poetry... With CAILLOUX, choreographer Joachim Maudet continues his sensitive exploration of fragments of childhood that persist and pass through us in adulthood. Here, everything draws inspiration from the sandbox, that prime site of first fictions, where wonderful worlds and extraordinary stories are invented... Five performers embark on a choreographic adventure that is both physical and intuitive; the stage space becomes a testing ground where the unexpected guides the movements. Balances waver and impulses collide with hesitation. Above this joyful commotion, polyphonic voices float. Faces remain still, but sounds, murmurs and babbling create a strange cloud that opens up other worlds. Together, the characters seek to rediscover the way of being in the world that belongs to childhood: playing, daring, starting over, without always knowing where it will lead. Between joy, uncertainty and discovery, CAILLOUX explores the tensions of childhood and their persistence in each of us. It is about love, encounters and freedom. Where even a heart of stone can beat in a way that is not stone.
