About this event
Editorial
Mal vu mal dit checks in on “silent cinema”: this “poor” cinema, which has neither color nor speech, only eyes. And yet it has managed to show and make us hear something we had never seen or heard before.
All the films we present will be screened in silence. As Jean Louis Schefer wrote about it:
“Even silent film has never been silent cinema. It is, more fully, cinema immersed in whispering (intertitles, for example, read aloud in a low voice to children during screenings). And through this whispered silence in the first images, that dust within us returns, that light, those gray bodies—as if a child sitting inside us were still holding our hand.”
A program proposed by Simon Gaillot and Olivier Geli .
