Before becoming a musician, JiJi was a multidisciplinary artist. Her texts began as poems collected in fanzines that she self-published. Wanting to share her words in a more tangible and direct way, she borrowed her roommate’s guitar, strummed a little and tried singing. It’s never polished, perfect or melodic, but it’s sincere. Inspired by spoken word and anti-folk, her songs invite you to experience vulnerability as something beautiful, strong and intoxicating.
