Concert Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate) + Chris Cacavas (Green on red)

Eleven years after his superb first solo concert in Marseille, Steve Wynn, the leader of The Dream Syndicate, is back! For the occasion, he will revisit songs from throughout his career with Chris Cacavas (Green on Red) on keyboards. This is an event: 11 years after his first concert in Marseille, Steve Wynn, the leader of the legendary Dream Syndicate, is back! For the occasion, on the Club 27 stage, he will perform compositions from his solo albums, including songs from his excellent latest release, “Make It Right,” released in 2024 on Fire Records—the first since 2008. A selection of tracks from all his groups and projects will complete the set list, from The Dream Syndicate to The Baseball Project, Gutterball and Danny and Dusty: play ’em all! There is every reason to believe that, as he has made a habit of doing since its publication, Steve Wynn will tell us stories from his memoir, “I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True,” published in 2024. This book, not yet translated in France, recounts the winding journey from his childhood through his teenage years as a music fan, up to the breakup of The Dream Syndicate in 1988. It also includes anecdotes such as trips to find Alex Chilton, wild tours with R.E.M. or U2, and the epic making of the group’s unjustly controversial second album, “The Medicine Show.” Chris Cacavas, the keyboard player who shaped the sound of Green on Red alongside Chuck Prophet and Dan Stuart, will complete this bill. Present on all four Dream Syndicate albums since the band’s 2012 reunion, he is a loyal companion to Steve Wynn. As the opening act, Chris Cacavas will perform a selection of songs from his solo albums, then accompany Steve Wynn on certain tracks for the rest of the evening. A great program lies ahead!
