Daniel Levi: an artistic journey between jazz, soul and French popular music
A singer-songwriter, performer and pianist, Daniel Levi made his mark on the French music scene with a distinctive voice and a style blending jazz, soul and French popular music. After ten years of training at the Lyon Conservatory, he made his debut in 1983 with the album Cocktail, before achieving his first national breakthrough with Ce rêve bleu, the French version of A Whole New World for Disney’s 1993 film Aladdin.
He became a household name in 2000 with his role as Moses in the musical Les Dix Commandements, whose song L'Envie d'aimer earned him the Best Original Song award at the Victoires de la musique. He subsequently expanded his discography with albums such as Ici et maintenant (2002), Le Cœur ouvert (2005) and Grâce à toi (2021), demonstrating his enduring creativity until the end of his life.
