Chamber music concert in the intimate setting of the foyer of the Marseille Opera House.

With two flutes, the singing multiplies: a lovers’ dialogue, dramatic confrontation, imitation or fusion of timbres. Doppler and Hugues’s great opera paraphrases allow the flute to be heard as a true diva, virtuosic and expressive, while the Méditation de Thaïs reveals an inner voice, solitary and suspended. With Ibert and Debussy, the writing breaks free from drama to explore color, rhythm and suggestion, before Wagner’s Liebestod brings together all the program’s tensions in an ultimate transfiguration. Deux flûtes à l’opéra thus offers an instrumental reading of the lyrical stage, between theater and poetry.
