Die Ärzte: half a century of punk rock from Berlin
Founded in 1982 in West Berlin by Farin Urlaub (guitar, vocals) and Bela B (drums, vocals), Die Ärzte released their first album, Debil, in 1984. After splitting up in 1988, the trio re-formed in 1993 with the arrival of bassist Rodrigo González and made a spectacular comeback with the single Schrei nach Liebe.
The band followed up with a string of hits, including the single Ein Schwein namens Männer, the first number 1 of their career, and established itself as an institution of German-language rock, receiving an MTV Europe Music Award in 2003 and a World Music Award in 2008. In 2026, the band announced more than thirty dates for 2027 under the slogan « One goosebump after another! ». Catch Die Ärzte in concert in Paris, also scheduled as part of this Tour de France.
