Dimanche 8/11 - Matin - Accueil de bénévoles

Come and learn about the association, the flock, and the essential tasks that will let you take turns on sheep duty: setting up the nets, moving the flock short distances, checking the sheep’s health… and lots of cuddles! 🌿

A practical, friendly morning, followed by a picnic for anyone who would like to stay.

Wear clothing suited to the outdoors and the weather! 💚

Membership is required, as is a commitment to at least one sheep-duty shift per month.

🐑 Would you like to join the Les Moutons Marseillais flock-sitting team?

This welcome session is for anyone who wants to get involved in caring for the flock and help us with daily duties!

🌿 On the program:

• Introduction to the association, its work, and the flock;

• Meet the sheep and learn about their needs;

• Hands-on practice: setting up and taking down the nets, moving the flock short distances, filling the watering troughs, checking the sheep’s health… and of course, lots of cuddles!

• A friendly picnic for anyone who would like to stay and spend more time together (please bring your own lunch!).

Sheep-duty shifts are above all a chance to enjoy peaceful moments and connect with nature outdoors. But they also require consistency, attention, and a real sense of responsibility.

💚 Ready to get involved? We ask volunteers to take at least one sheep-duty shift per month. This regular commitment helps build reliable teams who get to know the sheep and become more independent over time.

🐏 Membership in the association is essential to take part in sheep-duty shifts, for insurance and liability reasons, as well as to support our community project.

👟 What to bring: clothing suited to the outdoors and the day’s weather: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes that can get dirty, protection from the sun or rain… Sheep-duty shifts take place outdoors, whatever the weather!

You don’t need to be a shepherd: we’ll show you what to do. The most important thing is to want to learn, care for the sheep, and take part in a collective adventure. 🌱

Organized by: LES MOUTONS MARSEILLAIS

LES MOUTONS MARSEILLAIS is an urban, mobile sheep farm based in the Aix Marseille Provence region. The association was founded in 2022 by Arthur Aude, a trained botanist, with the aim of offering an ecological way to manage green spaces.

With 17 ewes, the association now carries out a range of activities:

• eco-grazing in public or private spaces

• activities and awareness-raising around peasant farming and sustainable development

• responsible production (meat, wool, and related products…)

It contributes to revitalizing the region, encourages reconnection with nature, and works to preserve Mediterranean biodiversity.
