Ekiden Marseille

The Ekiden is a race originating in the Land of the Rising Sun, consisting of running a marathon as a team relay with six people. This free-pace race aims to bring runners together in a festive atmosphere. Runners must complete set distances in the following order: 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, 10 km, 5 km and 7.195 km. Not everyone can run a marathon, but everyone can cover part of the distance thanks to the division of the stages. The race is accessible to as many people as possible—friends, students, colleagues from the same company, runners, licensed athletes, members of the same family... There is only one guiding principle: cover your distance at your own pace and pass on the baton. You absolutely do not need to be a seasoned athlete. Everyone can take part! This free-pace race aims to bring runners together in a festive atmosphere. The only requirement is a medical certificate stating “no contraindication to competitive running.” So get your sneakers ready!
